How was I selected to join Downsizr?

Downsizr identifies and invites partners based on specialisation, reputation, and track record. We research dealers, auction houses, and specialists who we believe would provide excellent service to our item owners.

What information do I see about items?

You see item details relevant to your expertise – photos, videos, condition, category, and estimated value. You see the owner's general area (city level) to determine if logistics are feasible. You do not see the owner's name, address, email, phone number, or any other identifying information.

When do I learn who the owner is?

Only after your quote is accepted. At that point, the owner's relevant contact details are shared with you to coordinate the transaction. If the owner is handling logistics themselves, you may never receive their address.

What are my obligations around owner privacy?

Owner confidentiality is a condition of your partnership with Downsizr. Contact details shared for a specific transaction must not be retained, shared, or used for any purpose beyond that transaction. Breach of owner privacy will result in immediate removal from the platform.

How are payments handled?

All payments are processed through Stripe Connect. For direct purchases, payment is made through the platform before collection is arranged. For consignment and auction sales, owner payment is processed once the item sells. Downsizr never handles cash or off-platform payments.

What insurance do I need?

You must maintain current professional insurance covering the items you handle. Your insurance certificate and expiry date are recorded during onboarding, and you'll be prompted to update them before they expire.
